Citizen Science Month

Citizen Science Month is a month-long invitation to learn more about a global movement and to find ways to get started through hundreds of free events and programs around the globe where volunteers from all occupations get involved in research by collecting data, analyzing results, and helping solve some of the biggest problems in science.

Its mission is to inform and engage the public on the core principles and practices of citizen science and participatory science, particularly we do this by partnering with public libraries and can community-based organizations to activate science in communities.

Each year, Citizen Science Month has a different theme and challenge. In 2024, the theme is "One Million Acts of Science," Citizen Science Month is a fantastic opportunity to engage your library community in scientific research and discovery.
